About

Hi, I’m Lauren.
At 59, I qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor, and Level 3 Personal Trainer and Nutrition Advisor - although I prefer the term Fitness Coach, and if you read on you’ll see why.
Aged 46 - feeling fit and healthy - I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within eight months, I had a mastectomy with reconstruction from my stomach, and a full hysterectomy. Thrown from a life of being active to literally nothing for months was indeed tough - both mentally and physically.
While I recovered physically to a degree, the mental effects were detrimental –
the stuff that people don’t see when you “look well” again.
It has taken me years to get where I am today, and to feel both mentally and
physically strong is the most amazing feeling.
So, why do I prefer the term Fitness Coach?
My passion is to train men and women aged 50+ - real people who have lost
their fitness, confidence, or mental strength after going through tough times.
Many are feeling lost and not wanting to be uncomfortable and intimidated in
a traditional gym environment.
I’ve been there - hit rock bottom and come back up again. I can relate.
I know it’s possible. I know that gaining confidence through exercise is
paramount to mental health.
Based in Hare Street, Buntingford, I run sessions from my well-equipped,
private fitness studio and also train outside depending on what you prefer.
Whether it’s a walk and a talk, a PT studio training session, or an outdoor
bootcamp-style workout, give me a shout – I’ve got you.
